The 2nd edition of Rise & Shine, Animation development & pitching Lab for young talents and their short films has succesfully wrapped up with the pitching event at 20th Animateka International Animated Film Festival.<\/p>\n

The second edition of Rise & Shine Animation Lab for young talents and their short films hosted 11 amazing projects<\/strong>, which received <\/strong>a programme of lectures, workshops, individual and group sessions with experienced mentors Anna Va\u0161ova, Michael Dudok De Wit and Pedro Rivero<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The program kicked off at Animafest Zagreb<\/strong> from June 7th to 10th, 2023, followed by its second segment at Animateka<\/strong> from November 26th to 29th, 2023. The program wrapped up with a pitching event held on December 2nd at Animateka.<\/p>\n

Each pitching project received feedback from a panel of esteemed animation industry experts including Vanja Andrijevi\u0107<\/strong> (producer\/distributor \u2013 Bonobo Studio, Croatia), Luca Toth<\/strong> (director\/art director\/animator, Hungary), Eric Reginaud<\/strong> (animation expert\/residency programmer, Ciclic \u2013 Val de Loire, France), and Joaquim Pinheiro<\/strong> (distributor, Ag\u00eancia \u2013 Curta Metragem, Portugal).<\/p>\n

Two projects were awarded. The first, the CEE Animation Forum 2024 direct access award, was granted to the project “COSMONAUTS<\/strong>” by Leo \u010cernic and Tina Smrekar<\/strong> from Finta Film, Slovenia. The second award, the Winner of the Rise&Shine 2023 Award, offered a dual invitation to the 2024 Animafest Zagreb and Animateka festivals, and was given to the project “Period Drama<\/strong>” by Michaela Michalyi and Jakub Ralek<\/strong> from BFilm, CZ.<\/p>\n
